Something seems to be going on right now that is affecting a lot of people. Maybe it’s because of the upcoming full moon, or maybe it’s the state of the world right now. This past week I’ve been contacted by more than a handful of people, all looking for help in finding answers for challenging situations in their lives.

What I found to be the most interesting thing was that as I mentored them through the process, several of them said, “I know this, but I’ve forgotten”.

It seems like when we get too stressed, instead of taking the time to go within to the source of all our answers, our natural instinct seems to be to run, oft times in circles, creating even more chaos in our lives.

Then we get even more frustrated and beat ourselves up for forgetting and the vicious circle can spiral downward- we forget, create more chaos, beat ourselves up again, causing more chaos, which then make us beat up on ourselves….  You get the picture, and it isn’t a pretty one.

I’m sure we can all identify with this to a certain degree. We’ve all been there and understand what it feels like to be lost and disconnected. Yoga-Sunset

Today, it’s time to break the pattern and the best person to do that for you is you.

In my sessions with these folks this past week, I found myself talking about our own inner wisdom so much so, that I decided to challenge you in this blog. I’d like to invite you to write YOUR brilliance, so that when you get stuck in life and forget who you are, YOU get to talk yourself through the situation you’ve created.

There is nothing more powerful than the voice inside of you. It has all the answers, if you take the time to listen.

So here’s your homework. Please write in 500 words or less, what you know to be true. Write as if today were your last day on the planet and you are leaving behind great wisdom for the rest of humanity. Write as if the biggest, strongest and best part of you is speaking from that place of Divine wisdom.

Don’t worry about the structure, the grammar, or anything. Just listen inside, and write. The words will come to you.

We include one of these from one of our Inspirational Luminaries each day as ‘Today’s Brilliance’ on our site, InspireMeToday.com. I’m inviting you to write your own and post it here as a comment to share with our community. You never know whose life your words will touch -maybe even your own!

For chances are, it will be one of your personal resources for you personally on the days that you forget your own magnificence! When we’re in our darkest places, no one can reach us like we can. So, please start writing! Do it for you.

Since I’m asking you to do this, I did it first, and I’m including mine below for you. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I know I will enjoy reading yours!

Love and hugs,

Gail

My “Brilliance”- by Gail Lynne Goodwin

Begin and end your day with gratitude. What you focus on grows, so focus on good things. Develop an attitude of gratitude.

Realize that what’s happening around you isn’t who you are. Illusions can appear real but we get to choose whether or not to buy into them. You can be the chess master or the pawn- your choice.

Dream big and make life fun! Do something outrageous each day. Follow your passion. Believe in yourself. Change your attitude to “I’ll see it when I believe it”, not the other way around.

Happiness is a choice. You have the power to do, be or create anything you choose. All things are possible-if you never give up!

Take responsibility for your actions and in actions. You choose how to act or react. No one can make you feel anything without your permission. Therefore, act don’t react. Choose consciously and wisely. You are only one choice away from changing your world. Start with your beliefs, which will lead your thoughts, which will create your actions, which will produce your results.

Life is full of little curves and there will be times when you’ll get caught up in the drama of life and forget who you are. It’s not important that you forgot, but in how quickly you can remember.

Play and don’t take yourself or the world so seriously. Create reasons to laugh many times each day.

Follow your heart- not your fears. Fear is nothing more than False Evidence Appearing Real. Replace negative thoughts with positive ones. Let your actions come only from a place of love. Trust. Infinite possibilities are born of faith. Focus on the WHY of life and not the HOW, remembering that where focus goes, energy flows.

Love yourself so that you can love others. Know that you are enough. Without arrogance, be self-confident kind and compassionate. Pass on the love that has been given to you. Leave smiles in your wake. Be the best friend you can be. Touch other hearts. Share hugs. Build a community to support one another. Joys shared are doubled, while pain shared is halved. Be there for each other.

Choose to love with all your heart, even if it sometimes breaks. Treasure your beloved. Know the meaning of bliss. Build your life as one, without losing who you are. Keep the passion alive daily.

Live your life knowing that abundance is already yours. Set your goals high and do something everyday to move forward. Be open to possibility. Allow magic to happen. Do what you love and love what you do and you will never “work”.

Give back. Be generous. Remember that the fastest way to get unstuck is to do something for someone else.

Take care of your body and keep it strong. Nourish it with good foods, lots of water and long walks in nature. Massage it often. Get sweaty. Build strong muscles. Think healthy thoughts. Breathe and get plenty of rest.

Know that neither you nor nothing in your life needs to be “fixed”. You are whole, healthy and complete right now. Keep things in perspective and find the beauty. Remember what’s important- and forget what’s not. Live your life with no regrets. Bless the past and let it go. Bless your enemies. Forgive others and yourself. You can’t fly with an anchor tied to your feet. Live in the present. It’s the only thing that truly exists.

Take time each day to connect to the Divine. Trust that there is a plan even if you only see a fraction of it. Be not afraid to surrender your beliefs on how things “should” be, to the greater will of the Universe. Go deep inside. Seek knowledge while knowing that all of the answers to all of the questions are already inside of you. You are so very wise. Allow Spirit to talk to you and through you. Ask good questions. Be still, listen and you will hear the answers. Meditate on understanding, not outcome, knowing there is blessing in everything. Know that you are never alone. – You are a spiritual being enjoying a human experience. You are a part of something so much greater that will live forever.

Spread your wings and fly. You belong up with the stars. The world is yours. And remember, it’s only when you have the courage to step off the ledge that you’ll realize you’ve had wings all along! May your life be filled with infinite joy.

  1. Wonderful. I’m heading out to board a plane, and shall take this with me to ponder. Thank you for what you shared – the acronym for “fear” is amazing! My blog is http://shammahspace.ca/This and I am following you on Twitter! (Shammah2009)

  2. There is no such thing as coincidence!

To be a victim of your circumstances in life is a choice. Choose to be a Champion!

Life does not have a rewind button. Learn, forgive, and move forward.

We cannot control the actions, words or thoughts of those around us. However, we can control how we respond. Know that just because someone says something hurtful or something that you don’t agree with does not make it a truth. Don’t give away your power.

How exciting is this life of ours? Truly. Think about it. Our lives are a blank canvas and we are the artist. If you do not like what you have created, then start over, but start from a better place because of what you now know.

Attitude is EVERYTHING! Your attitude will make you or break you.

Live enthusiastically and with passion – it is contagious!

Act as if. Fake it till you make it. The world sees us as we see ourselves.

Reality. What is it? We all have a different reality. Reality is shaped by our past experiences, the people we have surrounded ourselves with, what we read, what we watch, what we allow to flow unfiltered through our sub-conscious. It is made up of so many things. Keep an open-mind. When you are speaking to someone you do not agree with, step back, don’t make up your mind that they are wrong. Listen, empathize, try to at least understand their point through their perception. You do not have to agree. What a better world this would be if we took the time to try and understand each other.

Question everything! Just because you hear it on the news, or from an expert, or someone you are related to, or someone you are friends with does not make it so. If you are exposed to something that does not seem right to you, then challenge it!

Do not live your life on autopilot.

Don’t wish your life away! OMG it’s Monday – I can’t wait till Friday. If you are unhappy with your Mondays then what changes can you make that will have you leaping out of bed on Monday morning?

    Never assume anything.

The only obstacle between you and what you really want is yourself!

    Take risks!

Be grateful and express your gratitude freely and genuinely. Don’t assume that people know how you feel. Small, but sincere gestures go a long way.

Surround yourself with the right people! You are your environment. Eliminate the toxic relationships from your life.

Ask! Never be afraid to ask! You might be amazed at how your life will change just from asking for what you want!

Invest in yourself. It is the best investment you can ever make and one that can never be taken from you. When you care for yourself, you are in a much better place to care for those you love and care about.

    1. Elizabeth, BRAVO for you! I’m really proud of you for doing this! Great wisdom- thank you for sharing it with us. I can’t wait to talk with you next week and watch the magic unfold even more.

Thanks again for shining your light so brightly.

      Big hugs,

      Gail

      1. Here’s another one that was emailed to us- hope you enjoy!

        From Ophelia Las in Australia…

Young and still learning a lot about life: the emotional, the happiness, the positivity and the change in life.

Don’t take life too serious…let loose and live the life YOU want to live, because at the end of the day, you are TOO living for you.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned in life – it’s not to take life too seriously, because if you take life too seriously, than when is life going to be fun and exciting for you? Without the fun and excitement – you are living a pretty dull life.

Five things that make me the person I am:-

Family: My mother is my biggest inspiration and has been for a long time. I believe my mother is my journal, my best-friend, my every thing and my protector. She is the shoulder I can lean on when I cry and wipe my tears on her shoulder and my father is my hero for giving us a wonderful house. Without the houses we all have now, we’ll be poor. My 3 other sisters are people who I can look up to at times.

Song-writing & Piano: Writing music + songs, allows me to release all the emotions + tensions and put them on paper and bring out something creative from within me.

Poetry: They were my negative poetry, as a way to help me cope with not self-harming, as I was a harmer for 10 years of my life, but have since stopped for a long time now.

ReachOut: I don’t really know where to start with ReachOut, because they are just indescribable to explain. ReachOut is the reason I am the person I am today, they have saved my life over and over again and without them, I’d be a lost goose, but they are giving me the strength to continue on with my life, as I’ve published two books: ‘What Happens Tomorrow: Emotions through Time’ and ‘A Touch of Inspirational Quotes’, dedicated to the Inspire Foundation. Now, I am working on my third book: ‘The Inspirational Collections: Depression into Happiness’ and now I am helping put together a book for ReachOut, which is still untitled, but all the young members on ReachOut are helping put it together as well. Such a great support system they have going on there.

People see me as someone who is strong and not afraid to try anything, but there are times where I love being to myself and just living in the quietness, for the reason that that’s where I say: I can continue on searching for who I am in this world and when I do that, it allows me to think: Hmm, okay – yes I have done something productive today.

I am living for the today, and aiming to achieve for tomorrow, because I cannot leap far and be at the very top at a young age, because I am starting at the bottom and aiming high.

Personally, life is not a bad thing to live in. Just live it positively and you’ll see a change in life.

  3. • Being rich can be helpful sometimes , although not everytime. Sometimes it robs your life of some of the finer things.
    • Persistence is key. Learn to be persistent for a long time continuously because ultimately that’ll be the trait that’ll take you to success.
    • Learn to control your thoughts , to be able to start , stop and reason with them. Otherwise , they’ll turn you insane , those voices from within you.
    • Get a clear conscience , not a great conscience. A great conscience might give you a great analysis , but not the exact answer.
    • Don’t try to figure out the answers by force. They’ll come to those who can be patient and wait.
    • Not everyone is a complex person like me , and that actually helps and it is easier that way.
    • Jump up at opportunities. Don’t be a wuss.
    • Hesitation will spoil it.
    • You health matters. You don’t want diminishing health and receding hairline , trust me.
    • Don’t get into relationships. Period.
    • Learn to turn happy naturally ,it’ll help.
    • Laugh more , look at the irony , live those moments.
    • Don’t be lazy to venture out.
    • Don’t be lazy.
    • Working out gives you a fulfillment quite unlike anything else. So work out !
    • Find what you love and don’t get lost doing something you’re distant from.
    • Don’t try to be stuff others are.
    • Have a constantly kindled interest to know about stuff.
    • READ. WATCH. OBSERVE. These are key feature you’ll need to consume knowledge.
    • Forgive people , keep life moving, keep moving forward.
    • Occupy yourself on vacations. Vacation time wasted is like a part of your soul wasted.
    • Learn to disattach yourself from your pursuits. You are not all about your pursuits , you are about the feeling of having worked for them.
    • Stand for honour. Learn to be righteous.
    • The grass is always greener on the other side.
    • Don’t look at the million reasons why it’s wrong. Try to make it right.
    • Love art. Love music. Love popular culture. Watch all the cult hits. Try to make a movie sometimes. These are the real high points of life, I tell you.
    • Don’t be a slave of anything , especially not money. Work is pleasure , work is worship. If it aint , then it’s none of your business. Drop it.
    • Eat , eat a lot , eat a many. Food is worth the life. Life is worth the food.
    • Talk on stage at every opportunity. Engage people , bewilder them. Capturing their imagination is all the while worth it ! Make a name for yourself.
    • Give because there is a joy in giving. Do not give because it comes across as humane to those looking at you.
