Be Proactive and Live Your Life Fully!

If I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I'd want to pass along to others...

  • We are the masters of our lives and we can make it what we want it to be. Life is about choices. We can accept it as it is or we can make positive changes in our lives to make it fantastic. It is up to us.

By taking responsibility and by accepting that making mistakes is ok, we can move forward and realise that we can create the life we really want.

Most people complain, say they feel stuck and unhappy and believe that they cannot do anything about it. Others, on the contrary, take action, challenge themselves and create their dream life. What is the difference between them? The second group of people have decided to take action and make the necessary changes in their lives. It takes focus, motivation and efforts so it really is worth it. It is about living their dreams, about making them come true.

Change is not easy: everybody has doubts, everybody is afraid of the unknown- but change is powerful. It is powerful if you make it happen and are prepared for it. It makes everything possible.

As Walt Disney once said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.” People often limit themselves because they think that things are out of reach. It can either be because of lack of time, lack of money, fear or doubt.

I have learnt that it is worth discovering what our dreams are and making them happen. Life is about having exciting experiences, about discovering who we really are and about living our dreams. Nothing is impossible and life is too short to let fear control our lives. It is time to stop overthinking and planning and actually start living. Many people go abroad, change career or go trekking in the Himalayas. I have made my own dreams come true: I visited the Imperial Angkor temples in Cambodia, I have moved to another country, I got married, I have a daughter, I have changed career and started my own business… It makes me feel alive, and that’s a great feeling.

I have also learnt that the secret for happiness is to pursue our purpose in life. People need to ask themselves questions like: What makes me happy or not happy? What am I passionate about? What is missing from my life? Who am I? What do I value in life? And what does my job bring me?

Once people get clarity around those questions, they can understand more about what they really want and don’t want in life and make the necessary changes. Ultimately, everybody wants to be happy and I believe that happiness is possible if people are ready to make it happen for themselves.

Indeed, “you create your opportunities by asking for them,” as said by Shakti Gawain. Being proactive opens amazing opportunities in life and so much more…
