Express Yourself!

If I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I'd want to pass along to others...

  • Freedom is letting go of your limitations and expressing your true self!

How often have you been in a situation where you really wanted to say something but were afraid to speak up because of what people might think of you?

Maybe you wanted to change your career but knew that “you’d never hear the end of it”….

What if you could have a magic wand and change all of that?

I remember years ago being in one of those situations where I came across opposition to the decisions I had made about my own future. I was sitting at a family dinner and I had announced I was going to go to chiropractic school. One of my family members said “If you are going to go to school for that long, why not become a real doctor?” Not necessarily the most supportive answer.

That was a time in my life where I wanted my family to be proud of me and support me. I then got into a lengthy discussion where I attempted to convince them that I was doing the right thing for me and hoped to be able to show them the light.

Truth is, everyone has opinions and they are entitled to them. The challenge is when you live your life based on other people’s opinions and expectations because you want to please them and fear if you don’t, you will be a disappointment and they won’t love you.

The fact is that when you attempt to live up to other people’s expectations you silence that voice inside of you that is yearning to express itself. You surrender your power to others and soon enough your soul feels weak and defeated.

What if instead, you truly listened to that voice inside of you? The one that has dreams and desires that can take you on a path beyond where you might think you can go. The dreams that can move you to a higher level, allow you to grow and become the amazing person you were born to be?

The number one regret among people who are dying is that they wish they had the courage to live a life true to themselves not the life expected by others.

Why not live life without regrets? No matter what you do, some people will approve and some may not, some people may support you and some may not. After all, can you really please everyone? Doesn’t it make sense to live life on your own terms and follow your dreams so you can be happy and fulfilled?

Make a simple plan. Look at your life right now. Where are you on a personal level, what does your health look like? Are you happy with where things are? Give yourself permission to dream and write down what you want your life, career, health, and relationships to look like. Create a vision board. Set SMART goals and take action steps to achieve FREEDOM and live the life of YOUR dreams!!
