In our society today most people are going to a job that they hate. They put in the obligatory 40 hours per week, do the daily grind, singing the “Thank God It’s Friday” song and “Oh no not another Monday morning.” Many people wake up one day to realize that life has passed them by while they were at work feeling miserable.

It doesn’t have to be this way. Don’t bury your dreams and passion in exchange for a paycheck.

Unleash your creativity! Wake up to new possibilities! I am inviting you to take a new approach and unlock your mind and allow yourself to see a wealth of new and exciting opportunities. You have creative genius and ingenuity embedded in you, don’t ignore it. Don’t let life pass you by with your music still in you. Meaningful work is within your grasp.

Whether you decide to look at your job in a new light or launch a new career altogether, once you embrace your light, creative genius, talent and uniqueness, you will find that you cannot go back to the old way of working and thinking.

It can be scary at first to even think about rocking the boat, after all people tend to gravitate towards what is familiar even if it is making them miserable. Start thinking of life as an adventure to be experienced.

Challenge yourself to be powerful, creative and innovative. Move past the fear and lack of knowledge and act on an idea. All you need to break out of your old habits and mold are these four things:

  • Energy
  • Imagination
  • Ambition
  • Desire

Your passion, enthusiasm, excitement, drive and vision will open new doors for you. Don’t wait to be discovered by someone: make your own opportunities. For twenty years, I was going on auditions hoping to get selected for acting parts and TV commercials. I occasionally got work, but most of my time was spent waiting on tables.

One day I heard an interview on the radio with the actress Salma Hayek, she said, “As women, we need to make our own projects. We can’t wait for someone to give us a job.” That one line sparked something in me. I decided to make my own project and I wrote my first book, Excuse Me, Your Soul Mate Is Waiting.

Even if you don’t know how you are going to write that book, design that fashion line, host that radio show, take one step towards it with faith and commitment. Show the universe that you are serious about your project and ideas and the right people, situations and opportunities will present themselves to you.
