What has truly inspired me the last five years of my existence has been to find a way to bring more Love into our world, both my Love and that of others. The more that I Love, it seems the more I am Loved. The whole of existence is to be the Love that we are.

We seem to have lost our way as a species, but this is mostly due to ignorance, not because we are bad people. I know I was lost for forty-nine years and then one day I was not. This change has led to a new way of living life, a way that was never there before. It is through the eyes of Love that the ills of the world will cease to exist.

To understand life, it is imperative that we understand Love. Not on a conceptual level, but from a heart that wants to Love because it knows there’s no other way to live.

Our life is magical. Our life isn’t magical. To me both statements are true. Our life is magical in the regards that we are alive and we live, through no doing of our own. Our body just functions on its own, without our assistance. On the other hand, it isn’t magical because of the way we have evolved, and because for most, our behavior is mostly in line to satisfy our own wants and desires. These wants and desires are the very things that block us from seeing the magic of life.

What I have learned in my fifty-four years of existence is that life can become truly magical, but the base of existence will have to be from Love for this to occur. Not just sometimes, but it has to be our base of existence 24/7. If it isn’t, there will only be limited times that we will sense any magic in our life, and it will not be enough to understand how magical life really is.

Understanding that we exist to Love is to understand the magic of life. I cannot stress the importance of this enough. There is no such thing as a spiritual journey per se; to live is to Love. This is our journey. If you think there is something else, that’s probably why life doesn’t seem to be so magical.

We like to make life about something mystical, but it isn’t. It is just what it is and it can only be that. What is will never change, but you can make what is be of Love, and watch how the magic unfolds before your very eyes.

I am blessed, not because of who I am or what has occurred in my life. I am blessed because of the Love that I am given. I understand my life to the point where I know all my struggles were created because of the lack of Love in my life. Not the Love given to me, but the Love that I gave. When you give Love, you understand the blessing of the Love you are given.

To spread the seeds of Love is what makes life magical, because what is returned nothing of this world can give.

My name is Michael Cupo. At the age of forty-nine I thought I had everything I’d always wanted: a beautiful wife, two wonderful children, a nice house, and a great job. By all outward appearances, I’d made it. I should have been one very happy person.

Ever since I was a child, I always felt like something wasn’t quite right, like I was never enough. As I grew up I felt isolated and alone. In my adult years I found myself addicted to drugs, alcohol, and gambling, and many other forms of behavior not conducive to being in harmony with life—my behavior was killing me and harming those I loved.

In this astonishingly inspirational book, I share my story of my journey of inner discoveries—with all its false starts, road blocks, relapsing, and ultimately, an overwhelmingly uplifting state of surrender, acceptance, grace, and personal peace.

Equal parts heart-wrenching memoir and an easy-to-follow guide for personal growth, It’s Monday Only in Your Mind offers us a startlingly fresh interpretation of the Twelve Steps used by many programs. Here is a valuable toolkit for anyone interested in enhancing their spiritual life, repairing relationships, finding calm, and attaining an inner sense of well-being.

Included in my book are samples of some much-cherished Daily Messages, which I share via text message and Face book with an ever expanding circle of support, a growing community of fellow seekers around the world.

It’s Monday Only in Your Mind explores life’s deepest questions (as well as recognizable real-life issues) facing everyone, and it holds the vital power to transform all of our lives each day in the most profound of ways.

Our greatest relief is to accept things the way they are.
Our greatest misgiving is wanting them to be in some other way.
