Feedback Inspires Me

By B. Lynn Goodwin. Your feedback inspires me. I love it when readers write to one of my prompts. Some of you have done exactly that, and sent it to me privately. I invite you to do that today, if you like. My e-mail address is in the last paragraph. You can always write about whatever you like, but if nothing comes to you, try one of these sentence-starts and see where it takes you: Next time… I have to protect… When I first started… If only… I love… Why do I love your writing? You give me a private…

5 Suggestions for Staying Inspired

How does one feel more inspired everyday? Inspiration is the stimulation of the mind or emotions to a high level of feeling or activity. Inspiration comes from the Latin, inspirare which means "To breathe, to blow into the Spirit is within." If you want to feel and be inspired today, here are five suggestions: 1. Movies and music have always been a great source of inspiration. I recall that a key contributor reporting to me told me he was going after his dream to be a radio sports announcer after seeing the movie, Field of Dreams. The movie Forrest Gump continues…

Blocking Your Creativity? Procrastination

By Jean Adrienne. Each of us gets stuck from time to time, and we always wonder why we aren't able to make things happen the way we want them to. Rarely does the key come to unlock the block so we generally just have to wait it out, and that sets up a cycle that begins to perpetuate itself. While we wait for the answer or the "ahah" moment that will move us back into the flow, we often ponder what's going on in our life.  "What am I waiting for—and why?" I am one of the first to be…

Do Less, Do More-Recommendations From Twitter

I love how my blogs take on a life of their own. On Friday, I tweeted a saying that I saw on a wooden box at a museum in New York City last week. It read...  "Fear less, hope more; eat less, chew more; whine less, breath more; talk less, say more; hate less, love more; and all good things are yours." I got a tweet right back that said, "Bark less, wag more". Within a few seconds the idea for a blog was born. I then sent this request to Twitter: Pls recommend 1 thing to do less and…

Twitter’s Made Me a Better Writer

Twitter has made me a better writer. When you have only 140 characters, you learn how to communicate in fewer words. After more than 13,300 tweets, I've taken this one step further and now unconsciously condense all of my thoughts into fewer words. All of my written materials, blogs, website copy, etc, are now shorter, punchier and more concise than they were pre-Twitter. My most powerful tweets all started out as something so much bigger, longer and more complicated. I edit and condense continually. Recently I was moved to offer assistance when some peeps whined about how helpless they were…

Christmas Eve Blessings To You

This is a different kind of blog on this beautiful Christmas Eve, I'm doing something I've never done before- spending Christmas Eve alone. The kids are spending the holiday with the other side of the family, my husband is flying, and the other family that was coming canceled at the last moment for health reasons. And you know what? It's still a beautiful evening. I've had invitations to join friends, but I'm choosing to stay in, hang with Koda, and be reflective of the beauty on the season. Tonight is such a magical night filled with possibility. Not only is…

Serendipity, Coincidence or Something Bigger?

How many times do things show up in your life that you write off to coincidence or serendipity? How often are you pleasantly surprised at things just fall into place perfectly? We are very powerful beings with the capabilities of creating what we choose in our lives. Yet many times, we don't believe in this power, don't believe that we had anything to do with the "perfect timing" of a situation and don't use it to our advantage.  Instead, why not harness this energy and put it to work for you? A recent example of serendipity in my life was…
