Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about this quote from poet Christian Wilman: “Let us remember… that in the end, we go to poetry for one reason, so that we might more fully inhabit our lives and the world in which we live them, and that if we more fully inhabit these things, we might be less apt to destroy both.”

ButterflyChristian isn’t just talking about poems and prose here. What he’s trying to say is that art, creativity and things that inspire thought help us engage with our lives so that we treat our existence with more care, respect and joy. When we inhabit our lives, we give them a deeper meaning.

There is a big difference between talking about “Inhabiting Life” and actually doing it. You see, the doing is really in the being and the being is all about paying attention. When we take time to look, listen, see, feel and taste what is right in front of us we are inhabiting life and the delicious present moment.

Many of us become stuck by the stories we tell ourselves around the circumstances of our lives. As a result we can become closed off to experiencing the world in a different, more positive, light.

In my coaching practice, workshops and on Harvesting Happiness Talk Radio, I love sharing keys to transcending adversity and achieving joyful growth in spite of the curveballs life throws our way. If you’re currently seeking new ways of viewing an old story, I’d love to invite you to transform the way you look at life by joining me at Mastering The Art of TransformationBreaking Through Your Invisible Blocks to Health, Wealth and Happiness with Host Linda Stewart, a complimentary 21-day Audio-Summit that begins on August 7th.
