Abundance in Anegada, BVI

Everyone has a favorite place in the world, and for me, it's on the beach of a small island in the Caribbean, called Anegada in the British Virgin Islands. This is a beach where I can walk for hours and rarely encounter another person. Don't get me wrong; I LOVE people but I also need solitude from time to time. Just being in this place is like physically walking into a meditation. As my friend Jim said as he shared part of the walk with me, "I need to know that places like this still exist in our world". We're…

Reclaim Your Personal Power!

There are some things in life we can control and some that we can't. We all have dominion and mastery over our own lives. We have personal power and we get to use it or give it away as we choose. Unfortunately, many times we willingly give away our personal power without even thinking about it or realizing that it happened. My friend Sally had a long-term happy relationship with her partner Bob.  Recently, she left Bob because a friend told her some bad things about Bob. Rather than confront the situation or ignore the advice, she ran. When a…

A Conversation With God?

About a month ago I sat in front of my laptop with some heavy thoughts on my mind. In trying to figure out a difficult situation, I gave up and just started typing the first statement below. Rarely do I get to a place where I momentarily crash, but I was tired and was venting in frustration. From there my fingers kept typing and here are the  responses that I "heard" in reply to my questions. I'm not sure this came from the Universe, God, my higher self, my imagination or whatever else. What I do know is that I…

This Too Shall Pass

We have an incredible opportunity to learn things in life by simple paying attention to Nature. For me, today was one of those days. I woke this morning remembering something Dr. John Dimartini shared with me in our interview. He said that when he wakes in the morning, he won't get out of bed without first shedding a tear of gratitude. As soon as I woke up this morning, before I ever opened my eyes, I lay there in bed thinking of this and listed the many things I was grateful for. I also had a list of "to do's"…

My Top Ten Ways to Find Your Magnificence During Tough Times

Times are tough. We hear it all around us everyday... another business going under, another bankruptcy being filed, another job being lost, another home going into foreclosure, or another pension disappearing into dust. Worry takes a toll as stress builds, creativity suffers, health is compromised and relationships are threatened. To keep with my transparent blogging style, I want to share this with you that this is one of the most difficult financial times of my life. I have always been an independent businesswoman and my background is in real estate, so all of my assets were in what I thought…

How Did I Let This Happen To Me?

A recent tweet lead to a conversation, which in turn showed up today as a catalyst to change my life. The tweet was from my friend Dr. Leslie Romer. Dr. Leslie is the author of a book entitled, Getting Into Your Pants (meaning your own!). I interviewed her a year ago as a Luminary for Inspire Me Today.com. Her message Saturday was an innocent invitation to get together. My mind instantly went to the failure I felt for not being able to get into my pants! She's so thin and beautiful and I felt embarrassed at gaining weight since we…

Walking Through Scary Times

Companies are closing, pension accounts are being drained, unemployment is going up, folks are losing their homes and the bankruptcy rate is escalating. Many feel as if they're walking through scary times as they watch their piggy banks sink. It all sounds like a train wreck in another state- something tragic but also distant While we're empathetic, the impact is lessened because it doesn't affect us personally. Until it does. Then, very suddenly, things shift and it becomes very real, very fast. Just this past week I've had some personal issues with some real estate investments that are now upside…

Take Time to Connect

Just for a moment, think this one thought: I am an unlimited being. I have the power to be, do or create anything in my life that I desire. Anything. How does that feel? Like most people, you're probably feeling something like "yeah, I wish", or "if only that were true", or even "I wish I could believe that".  To some just saying this feels like we're lying. Some days more than others, we're able to see the possibility of "I am an unlimited being" really being a true statement. What makes the difference of not being able to say…

Belief, Fear and Success

Do you ever have one of those mornings when you wake up scared? Scared that you don't know how you're going to do something that needs to be done? I think we all share this from time to time. That feeling of uncertainty, that fear of the unknown, that discomfort with stepping outside of the box we’ve been living in for so long. We say we want change and that we want to play a bigger game. Well, along with that comes unknown territory, and along with that comes fear and trepidation. It’s our body’s survival mechanism kicking in to…

Flying Without an Airplane!

The past few days I've felt like I'm flying- and we haven't even started our flight around the world on our Global Hug Tour yet! The synchronicity of life is kicking into full gear. Things are lining up so fast and the world is spinning, but all in a very good way. I'm blown away each day by the serendipity of life. Each day I continue to position myself to be lucky and it just keeps showing up! Today I was reminded how all of this started. Just one short month ago, my husband and I had a visioning session…

What Would You Do If You Couldn’t Fail?

About a week ago I had an idea that was the biggest, boldest idea I've ever had. It came to me in a flash of inspiration during a visioning session with my husband. This idea came from asking ourselves questions like, "How can we make the biggest difference in the world? If we absolutely knew we couldn't fail, what would we do?" Very big questions birth very big outrageous answers. If you don't believe me, ask yourself the same questions. What could you do to make a huge positive impact on the world, knowing that you can't possibly fail? When…

I Have a Secret that I Can’t Wait to Share!

I have the coolest job on the planet. Each day I get to interview some of the greatest and most enlightened people in the world. I am blessed to have created a way to do this and each day I'm grateful for the opportunity to surround myself with such excellence. About three months ago I started to write a book, combining the wisdom that I've learned throughout my life, along with the information shared from our Inspirational Luminaries.  Based on some of the same principles from Napolean Hill's masterpiece, "Think and Grow Rich", the preliminary title for my book is…

Abundance Is All Around You

I tried an experiment this week. This is my seventh blog in seven days. I originally started writing at the beginning of this week because I had something to say. It quickly became a question of how many concurrent days could I write… as one day gradually grew into seven. Yesterday I had the thought of , "Maybe I should save this idea in case I don't have anything to blog about tomorrow? What if I run out of ideas? I don't want to get our community in the habit of expecting one each day and then not delivering! Oh…

Letting Go of the “HOW?”

The email response to my recent blog postings has been humbling. The number one question I've been asked is "HOW? How do I focus on the positive when I can't make payroll? How do I enjoy my day when I'm so miserable? How do I get rid of the fear that I feel inside?" HOW seems to be a big, scary word. In gathering my thoughts for this blog post I was wondering, "How do I help"? I was also stuck in the HOW of not knowing, yet wanting to be of service. And then something funny happened. I was…

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday! When I first realized I was awake this morning, I smiled and then I remembered it was Monday. I had a great weekend and would have been happier if today would have been Sunday all over again. And then I laughed, for what makes Monday any different from Sunday or Friday for that matter, but my thoughts about it? A day is a day and nothing more. It's the labels and expectations that my thoughts place on the day that make it different from any other day. The hopes, the fears, the expectations all come from within me!…

Born to Fly!

This morning I woke up hearing these words in my mind. I reached for the computer and with my eyes closed, just started typing. I'm not sure where it came from or what I must have been dreaming, but I wrote it just as I heard it. When I read it later today I thought it wasn't half bad, so I decided to share it with you. Comments are so welcome on this one! Here it is……. You can do it! Don't listen to the naysayers, those that haven't done what you're trying to accomplish, or those who never will.…

Faith vs. Fear

A few years ago I was working on an entrepreneurial project, living off savings. Some days were financially scary as I was learning to live on faith instead of fear. One day I was standing in the checkout line of my local grocery store, very aware the woman in front of me was taking a long time to check out. Although I had no pressing appointment, I became impatient and annoyed at having to wait so long.  Finally, I realized that being annoyed wasn’t doing me any good and I started to pay attention to what was unfolding before me.…

It’s Just a Little Fog

Our time in Anacortes is coming to an end, as we're returning to Boulder in about a week. The past few weeks have been simply beautiful here with clear, sunny, blue skies filled with white puffy clouds and warm temperatures. I can tell that fall is on the way. Not only are the leaves on the big tree by the house already turning red, but yesterday morning I woke up in the middle of a cloud, surrounded by a swirling mist of fog. One of my interviews yesterday was with an incredible man, Stephen Hopson, who is a deaf motivational…

What Are Your Jellyfish?

We're spending this week with a friend, sailing the San Juan Islands of the Pacific Northwest. We've never been here before and the scenery is stunningly beautiful. My husband and I are enjoying a great week. One of our intentions for this week was to do some brainstorming for InspireMeToday.com, but very little of that has happened so far. Just before I left to come up here I was interviewing one of our Inspirational Luminaries. I asked them to discuss change and how that can affect our lives. This Luminary shared that one thing they've learned is that if you…
