Friendly Reminders from a Montana Huckleberry Patch

Living in Montana definitely has its perks- especially this time of the year- during huckleberry season. A few days ago, my son, his girlfriend and I went into the mountains of Montana in search of huckleberries. We drove for a few miles up a dusty, dirt road, then parked the car and hiked into the woods. For those not familiar with huckleberries, they grow on bushes usually not more than 18" off the ground and produce a somewhat tart berry, most closely resembling a blueberry. As usual, I couldn't help but relate this experience- in this case berry picking- to…

Conscious Language: The Power of Our Words

Our language has great power. It is an integral part of bringing what we desire into our lives, and also is a key element for bringing what we don't want into our lives as well. Many times, we're not even conscious of what we're doing or saying and wonder why we're not getting the results we desire. The Law of Attraction states that what we focus on grows, whether it's conscious or not, or intentional or not. We've all had the experience of thinking about buying a new car and all of a sudden, it seems like we see that…

You Are Not Your Problems

It's an overcast Spring day in Montana, as I'm sitting here by the lake watching the wind create waves on the surface of the water. Clouds are blowing by, slowly. Patches of blue sky can be seem intermittently through the passing clouds. It's dark, gray and a bit dreary. Raindrops are beginning to fall. If I were just looking at my immediate surroundings it could be quite depressing. But... in the distance I can see the sun shining brilliantly on a mountain peak. Just at that one place, the clouds part, the mountain breaks through and the peak glows in…

Fundacion La Puerta- Making a Difference in Tecate

A few days ago I was inspired by the smile of a small boy named Diego, who lives in a poor community of Tecate, Mexico. I spent last week in Mexico as a guest of Rancho La Puerta. Our group of 18 bloggers visited Diego's community last Thursday. As a border town, Tecate is known as a migrant town and is highly transient. The average worker earns $5-10 per day. Diego and his family live in the outskirts of Tecate where people can still acquire land by squatter's rights. Diego's neighborhood is crammed with one tiny home after another, many…

Inspiration from Rancho La Puerta

Ah.... morning inspiration from Rancho La Puerta.... While on a walk yesterday, I found a permanent exterior chalk board that is the ranch's version of InspireMeToday.com. This board is about 3' by 3' in a stone monument with inlaid tiles. The artwork is exquisite! Each day they feature a different  inspirational quote. Today's quote "The soul is not where it lives, but where it loves. " It was so beautifully done that I wanted to share it with you...... with hopes that some of the peace I'm feeling this morning comes through this post to you. Enjoy your day! With…

Inspire Me!

Do you remember the last time you were inspired? Really inspired? Do you remember the energy in each molecule of your body that felt like you were dancing even if you were standing still? Maybe it was from a rousing sermon from your favorite minister, from a piece of music, perhaps from a motivational speaker or maybe just watching a sunset and realizing your connection to the Universe. Inspiration comes in many forms, but no matter the form, it’s something that’s as important to us as breathing. Inspiration is an integral part of life and something we need on a…
