“How can I stop being shy? I have had this problem since my early childhood and I can’t get rid of it. Every time I try to make a change and finally become sociable and be comfortable with talking to new people or to stop blushing, something embarrassing happens and I fail. I feel like I’m stuck in this endless nightmare for the rest of my life. I always think my particular situation can’t be solved because I BLUSH a lot and I can’t control this. Please help me overcome this shyness and perhaps stop blushing and becoming more comfortable during awkward situations.” ~ Yosra, Tunis, Tunisia
Dear Yosra,
Being debilitatingly shy is rooted from low self-esteem and lacking confidence in oneself.
One way to overcome this is to empower yourself by doing daily mirror-work exercises. This is where you provide yourself with the basic building blocks of who you truly are as your essence is an expression of God/Goddess manifested into human form; therefore, you possess all the innate qualities of the Universal Mind intelligence.
Mirror-work is looking into your eyes as they are the windows to the Soul and positively speaking to yourself in the first, second and third person as this is how we identify ourselves: I, you, me, he, she and stating your name while speaking your essence of truth. For example:
I AM magnificent, confident, safe, strong, beautiful, talented, creative, joyful, loving, lovable and loved. You are healthy, vibrant, whole and complete. You are worthy and deserving of the best life’s experiences. Stacey has right-relationships with everyone she meets. Everyone enjoys being in Stacey’s company. She is powerful. Stacey is loved. You are so loved, Stacey. I love you, Stacey.
As you do this exercise several times a day, you’ll empower your Inner-Child with your essence of truth and what you were meant to receive as a child. It’s important to use your name during this exercise while physically and visually connecting with yourself. You can point to yourself in the mirror as you say them. You can touch your heart chakra, located in the center of your chest, as you speak your truth. Be sure to have fun with this exercise by singing and chanting them.
With respects to the blushing, it’s a beautiful innate gift which allows the body to illuminate your radiance for others to see.
Namaste’
