Life is much more than a string of seemingly disconnected, chaotic events devoid of meaning and direction. There is a cosmic intelligence – be it God, Spirit, the universe or simply love – that connects us all, and when we tap into this brilliance available to us, a whole new world can emerge before our eyes.
Each one of us is a beaming soul encased in a human body – here to learn, grow, evolve and help one another – and when the body dies, this part of us lives on. I believe we come to this physical world knowing on some level who we really are and what our purpose is for this life – that is why babies are so happy! But as we grow, we learn to abandon our true selves, and adapt to the physical world we can access with our five senses.
We believe we’re separate from one another and everything around us, and must endure the chaos, uncertainty and fear we experience. We believe we have no control over our individual lives, and we turn to negative and harmful ways of living in order to escape – which only deaden our spirit and dim our light.
I promise you there is another way to navigate your life.
1. We are never alone. There is an unending stream of guidance and strength available to us in every moment, but it’s up to us to make the connection and ask for help. Be it meditation or a simple prayer, our higher self, angels, guides, and even our loved ones who have passed on are just waiting for us to realize this and begin to welcome it into our lives.
2. There are no accidents. Coincidences are synchronistic moments the universe uses to gently nudge us in the right direction. Upon reflection, many moments that seemed disconnected can be traced back to find meaning and purpose. Did you get fired only to find a better job with more money waiting for you? The relationship ended, but what lessons can you take with you into the next one? Did the illness cause you to revaluate your health and make better choices for the future? Have you taken the lessons learned from challenges and helped others as a result?
3. We are powerful creators. Our thoughts and beliefs about ourselves and the world create all we see and experience in it. If we look for problems, we will create and find them. If we look for solutions, the same is true. It’s our choice – our free will – to think and create either negative or positive experiences, and gratitude is the first step to flipping the switch to positivity.
When we begin to understand our lives have meaning, our souls never die, and we are more powerful than we can ever imagine, it’s impossible to view one another, life and our circumstances the same way. It’s a door to a whole new world – all we need to do is walk through.
