The ultimate success has nothing to do with money… Or career. It’s not the car you drive. The size of your home. The gold and diamonds you collected. The ultimate success has nothing to do with material accomplishment and gain. It has nothing to do with anything outside of you.
The ultimate success is to feel joy exactly where you are right now. No matter what your external life looks like. No matter your situation. The ultimate joy is to be complete and whole in this very moment. No matter who you are or where you are or why you are who and where you are.
Imagine that. Total surrender to and acceptance of life. As is. More than that. Appreciation for it as is. Happiness as is. Love as is. To feel abundant, just because you are. Imagine not needing a thing more to be happy? Feeling an overwhelming sense of gratitude, peace and unconditional, unwavering love.
Does that sound good? Well, it’s not some once upon a time tale. It’s accessible to you here and now in this moment and in every moment.
We all want to feel good. It’s our driving force in life. And the difference between feeling good and feeling bad is simply your perception of what is. On a good day, when you feel good, you may love and appreciate the rain. On a day when you’re focused on negatives and lack, the rain may come as a nuisance and unpleasant surprise. The rain is the rain. The only change in the two scenarios is your thought about the rain. Another example of this is with our concept of time. Let’s say you have a deadline at work. Eight hours seems like not enough to get the job done. The day is flying by. However, if something you’re looking forward to is in 8 hours, it seems like it’ll never come and the day is creeping on slowly. On one hand, 8 hours feels like time is going by too fast and on the other, the time seems to be going by at snail speed. Obviously we all know time is time is time. You cannot change it or make it go faster or slower. The absolute only difference is our perception of time and the thoughts we are thinking, which dictate how we feel.
In other words, what happens is irrelevant. What’s inside is all that counts. As author Mike Dooley says, “TBT: thoughts become things.” He suggests you choose wisely what thoughts you allow to dominate your mind as they will soon solidify into physical reality.
All that is needed to experience ultimate success (joy) is a shift in perception and an allowance to receive. Relinquishing what I call “pseudo-control” (that non-existent, false sense of control you think you have on everyone and everything and vice versa, what you think they have over you) allows you the opportunity to both shift your focus and open to receive what life has in store for you. And oh my, it’s so much more than you could ever imagine.
What’s more, your newly raised vibration, your newfound joy and excitement, has a positive impact on all those around you. Not only do you feel good, but you raise up the collective consciousness. You begin to shift the whole. Your incredible energy has profound effects.
So many of us are sleep walking, chasing that dangling carrot, wanting for more and more and more. Never finding or reaching that ultimate success we seek. We envision it a very specific way. We have a picture painted of what “it” is. But… Rarely does the joy we seek look the way we thought it would or should (both dangerous words of attachment). Sometimes it slips right by us because we are so busy spying our very specific prize.
At the end of our earthly, physical lives, do you believe you’ll really care how much you accumulated? You’ll remember the good times you had, how much you truly lived. Experiences you shared. Looking back, knowing you lived a full life of love and joy, making no excuses or placing blame externally, but feeling good and boldly experiencing your authenticity no matter what… That’s the ultimate success. It’s free. It’s available to us all. It’s unlimited and never runs out. It has no shelf life. And it’s all up to us whether or not we want it. Right here. Right now. It’s just waiting to be taken.
The life of your dreams awaits you. Go on. What are you waiting for? Grab it. There’s no better time (there is no Time other than) Now.
