Life today can provide us with many new challenges that can be difficult to work through. For some, especially youth who lack experience relating and responding to these situations, life’s challenges can bring with them even greater feelings of emotional distress.

What I have learned in life is that we each have the power as mentors to help others face challenges and come out stronger, wiser and more confident. If you are sharing your life experiences with the hope that you are providing guidance to another, you are being a mentor! You are positively impacting the life of someone else. You possess mentoring capabilities and practice these skills on a daily basis without realizing it, and you play an influential role in the power of the exponential results that mentoring can lead to.

As a mentor, you can be the difference between the mentee believing in themselves or believing in the negativity that comes from others. With your unwavering support, you can show a mentee that somebody cares about them and that they have the potential to achieve positive results and attract abundance into their life. You can motivate them to have the confidence to face challenges and opportunities head-on, breaking down barriers and learning that limits can be limitless.

Expanding your own learning repertoire while helping someone else learn is the ultimate way for you to “pay it forward.” You can help someone achieve momentous results that can last for years and ignite the desire for others to help in a similar way. You are nurturing future leaders now by sharing your current wisdom.

Accept your experiences as valuable learning opportunities, love yourself, open yourself up, be vulnerable and share your stories. Your knowledge is an inspiring gift. There is a divine power that comes from people connecting through common experiences. Establish roots in the growth and development of someone else, and watch their confidence and self-belief bloom along with yours.

Don’t fear or believe that your experiences are not important and cannot help others. Your experiences have crafted your thoughts and behaviors to allow you to develop into the brilliant person that you are today. What matters is if they helped you to be who you are today, they can help others.

Empower yourself to empower others to achieve more than they ever believed possible, all through sharing part of who you are. Your role is significant. The impact you have on the lives of others now and in the future is infinite.

  13. Agreed. It is more crucial with what is going in the world today, to guide and direct our youth to their own path… not the path society may try to force upon them.
