Three Wise Lessons To Live Free
I would want to share three lessons I have learned.... Discovering the Real You The most important question you can ever ask yourself is "Who Am I?" Sadly, some of us get so busy "doing life," making money, creating families, running businesses, starting new careers--that we never really stop to figure out who we really are. Until I learned this, I was weighed down by trying to be perfect and do what others expected of me. I believed my happiness was in the material things, and I paid little attention to what my heart really wanted. I only believed in those things…
Three Reminders For A Meaningful Life
When one is brought to the brink of death and back, he or she is suddenly exposed to new perspectives and new values. In my battle with cancer, I learned an endless number of lessons. If it was my last day, last hour, or last minute on this planet, I would be overflowing with words to tell the world. Because I would not have the time to tell them everything I would want to share, here are the three most important to me... The Time Is Now So many of us get caught up in the past or become anxious…
Never Forget to Live
The greatest revelation you can have is that you live life once. Many would consider such a statement to be a trite saying, instantly dismissing it and in doing so, negating a powerful tool for radical transformation. Never ever simply “get used” to the fact that you are alive. Never ever exist on earth and yet never truly live. Life is a precious gift: wear this truth around your neck like a scarf, every single day. Keep this truth on your lips, in your mind, and in your heart, in every situation you encounter and in every conversation that takes…
9 Tips for Seizing Control of Your Life
1. Here today, gone today - live life now! Security is an illusion, so seize life today. 2. Follow your inner compass - your intuition. When you commit to the journey, you will always end up in a place you describe and recognise as better than your starting point. For me, intuition is a feeling I get in my stomach that a certain course of action should be pursued- normally it makes no sense from a rational perspective! For others, it is a compelling inner voice, sending them on their journey. The key is to find out how your intuition…
Finding the Courage to Be Yourself
I may only be 8 years old, but I have learned a great deal. I've learned that bullying is for losers and losers are just not cool! Writing two books has shown me that I may be young but, I can achieve whatever it is that I put my mind to. If I strive hard and really focus on what it is that I want, I can do it all. I want other kids my age to know that they can do the same things I've done if they put their minds to it. If I had just 500 words…
Living True Happiness
Our life is full of many opportunities for us. Coincidentally, it is also full of many perceived barriers that we might allow to prevent us from engaging in these opportunities. I have loved living a life of opportunity and not predetermining my destiny with the thought "I can't". Even with a great number of possibilities available to us, it is likely there are too many things to accomplish in this life and perhaps not everything is possible as we imagine it. The important thing here is while we may have a long list of 'to-do's', we are working on crossing…
It All Begins With You!
Smile. Not 5 minutes from now or when you feel good enough to, but smile right this second. Notice how you feel? There's a scientific explanation behind that, but we won't get into it right now. There's a lot more to smile about than you're aware of. Whether it's because it's a new day with endless opportunities, the fact that you're alive right now and healthy enough to be reading this, or something as simple as having a great neighbor, you have a reason to smile. Always remember that with everything you do- you have a reason to smile. Love.…
Trying to Change? You Already Are What You Seek
You are perfect just the way you are. You are stronger than you know. The traits you admire in others are traits you also possess. Believe in yourself. Quit looking outside of yourself for your answers; you will never find them that way. Your answers are inside of you. Besides, no one knows better than you what it is you need out of life. You already are that which you seek. Question everything. How can you know what feels right if you don't understand what you're dealing with? And just because someone else believes something doesn't mean it's right for…
5 Tips for Your Success
A belief is yours to choose… so choose with care. What someone says about you isn’t automatically a true reflection of who you are. While their words can tell you something about them, your opinion of their words are likely an important indicator of what you believe about yourself. If someone tells you that you are ugly or beautiful, this doesn’t mean you are objectively ugly or beautiful. Instead, it informs you about the speaker and their thoughts in this moment. On the other hand, you can choose to believe or not to believe what that person says, and this…
Celebrate Life Now: How to Enjoy Life to the Fullest
As I'm typing my thoughts, I am watching my daughter play outside games with her neighborhood friends. First, they played a made-up game of throwing a ball though hula hoops. Next, it was bouncing a ball in the middle of the hula hoop, which had a number point value scribbled with pink sidewalk chalk in the center. How fun it is to watch the girls improvise with the items they have, six hula hoops and five balls of various sizes. I'm amazed at how quickly the girls can switch from game to game, making new rules, and having fun. Watching…
