It all starts here for maximum achievement.
“The greatest achievement was, at first, and for a time, but a dream,” as James Allen wrote. That dream then grew into a dominating thought or definite desire.
What is your definite desire? That one thing that you want, that dominates your thoughts.
You see, if you don’t have one, you need to find one. In order for us to live a full and abundant life, we must live with a purpose. A goal that is all consuming, that wakes us up in the morning and puts us to bed at night. If you are still in need of an alarm clock to rise on time every morning then you’re probably not working toward a definite desire.
Strong desire drives us relentlessly until we have accomplished our goal. It doesn’t matter where or how you start. Desire with organized effort and faith is the equalizer. It is one of the most important things, that we all have in common.
The most successful people in the world, whether they’re Michael Jordan, Oprah Winfrey, or Denzel Washington, have all achieved tremendous success in very different areas, that is evident for all to see.
What they all have in common is that their success started with a strong desire to be the best basketball player, the best talk show host, or to entertain us on the silver screen. They all followed their dream or desire with a plan and then stepped out on the belief that they could accomplish their goal, and they did indeed.
Your desire is personal, therefore, you don’t need anyone’s permission to proceed. Decide today what your true desire is and write it down. Then take action to achieve it immediately, not next week or next year but right now.
Word of caution though, this is not for the faint of heart, dreams are not easily accomplished, if they were, everyone would live them. But they are attainable. Plans will sometimes need altering but, the goal will remain the same. You will have critics, obstacles and disappointments but those who stay true to their desire and commit to achieving it with a faith that does not recognize failure will maximize their achievement.
