Growing up, I always asked why people do the things they do, to learn their mindset. Your mindset creates your moods, attitudes and habits. I developed the following nine wisdom keys for feeding your mindset with possibilities & positiveness.

1. If you reveal who you truly are, you will attract the people who will most complement your life.

Life is short and unpredictable. Don’t waste another minute on the people, places and things that don’t make you happy. You are the one thing you cannot run away from, no matter what your passion, vision or inner talent is. Don’t worry about what people may say, because the truth is when you will reveal who you truly are, you are going to attract those people who will most complement your life, who will support you, guide you, look after you and love to see you grow.

2. Pinpoint your weaknesses, and then use them as opportunities to grow.

Evaluate the weakest area in your life and see if it’s in line with your goals. If it has any connection with your goals, then make up your mind to build that area for strength. You can do anything you put your mind to it. Dashrath Manjhi singlehandedly carved a mountain and reduced a distance from 75 to 1 kilometer. You too have such power within you – never underestimate it!

3. Work with or around or over or under the circumstances that you face, but never lose sight of your destiny.

Things are always difficult before they are easy.Don’t take action towards your goals then give up in the face of challenges. Work with the challenges but never lose sight of your big picture in life. You can whine, moan and wish to not have your problems, or you can choose a different route. Everything in life happens for reason and sometimes only prayer and faith can unlock doors that are closed before you.

4. You are the sum of your action and your motives.

Your dreams don’t mean anything if they are not followed by action. You will never know what result come of your action, but if you do nothing, there will certainly be no result. If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy and inspires your hopes.

5. Your pain and consequences are your greatest teachers; your pain is the motivation from within.

Those who want success and have a big dream, but are faced with challenges, learn to be motivated highly by that internal pain. That pain becomes their greatest teacher and creates the internal motivation to work to overcome those obstacles and go after their goals.

6. The decision you make about who you are and what you want in life will affect the way you spend your time.

The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine. Goal-oriented people have drive and purpose in life. They want to get up in the morning, because they have to make their life better. They are looking forward to what the day will bring, not dreading it. Goals give us something to work towards, something to look forward to, and something to keep us motivated along the way so you can predict people future by how they spend their time.

7. Do not be afraid of climbing the staircase of your dreams slowly – instead be afraid only of standing still or going down.

If you’re climbing the right staircase of your dreams and you’re willing to keep climbing, you will eventually make progress. You have to get consumed about your own life. Walk at your own speed and be great at being you, for the great thing in the world is not where we stand, but where we are going. Don’t be scared by any obstacles you may face, for if you find a path without any obstacles, then it probably doesn’t lead anywhere.

8. You become a product of the people you hang out with.

People can inspire you or drain you, so you have to wise about who you hang out with. If you are not where you want to be in life, look around at the type of people you hang out with. You have to surround yourself with the right people. People who don’t just complain and bitch about life, but people who are successful, caring, visionaries and competitive to achieve huge goals in life, people who are smarter than you, more creative than you. You cannot hang around negative people and expect positive outcomes. We become what we love and who we love shapes what we become.

9. The principles you put in place when sowing your seeds in life will determine the quality of the products you harvest.

You can’t learn how to swim by reading books about swimming. You have to get in the water and practice. If you are determined to learn, then you will practice and practice until you finally know how to swim. Your level of determination will determine the level of your result, for the consequences of today are determined by the actions of the past.

To change your future, alter your decisions today. Opportunity follows struggle. It follows effort. It follows hard work. You have the power and the time to shape your life. Break free from the poisonous victim mentality and embrace the truth of your winning capability. You were not meant for a mundane or mediocre life. A dream becomes a goal when action is taken toward achieving it!

  1. Very inspiring post packed with wisdom! I can relate to almost everything you’ve said. I especially love the wisdom key #8, because it is so true. I have stopped hanging out with people kept me weighed down. When I stopped hanging out with the people that drained me, that’s when I was able to move forward in life.
